Welcome To Mummy Brain

OMG, You’re Really Reading My Blog!

*victory dance*

First and foremost, welcome. Now let me set the scene…

Before I had my daughter my interaction with kids was next to none. I found myself literally panicking about everything, in hindsight a blog like this would have been a lifesaver for me. Hence the birth of Mummy Brain…

Mummy Brain - What You Don't Know Before You Give Birth

Since I had no go to source for information at the time I became best friends with Google search. I had 111 on speed dial. I’m also pretty sure that my GP was fed up of seeing my face every other week. I mean, who can blame me? You’ve got this new tiny little baby to look after who only opens their eyes to eat (well in fact my daughter did that in her sleep too). So what if I spent the first week of her life watching over her the entire night like something out of a horror movie just waiting for her to make a noise so I could see if she’s okay, we’ve all done it…. haven’t we?

I spent hours surfing the internet, visiting numerous sites and comparing similarities in search of the common truth. In short, I’d love for this blog to become that go to source for like-minded mums in a similar position to myself. I’ll be documenting my experience from pregnancy all the way through to breastfeeding, the dreaded Terrible twos (which I honestly thought was just an expression that excused badly behaved children…it ISN’T!) and everything else in between.

But Wait, There’s More…

I’m currently on a journey transitioning to a more holistic way of living. By this I mean healthier eating habits and maintaining a chemical free home, among other things. Before having my daughter I wouldn’t even read the labels of the products/foods that I used and consumed, completely oblivious to any health risks that they may cause. I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for a bargain and a great marketing campaign! Yet once she was born, I found myself scrutinising every single ingredient that was intended to go in or on her body, I guess somewhere along the way I got a little obsessed! If even one person finds any value in my posts, then that will make this whole endeavour worthwhile.

Anyhow, whether you’re a a first time mum or you’ve been there, done that and got the T-Shirt, I’d like to hope that at the very least, you find this site a good read.

One last thing before I go… If you do come across a post that makes you think “ah thank God It’s not only me” I’d love for you to comment and let me know, so that I too have the comfort of knowing I’m not the odd one out *blushes* hehe.

Thanks for reading,
